“When we’re writing a song, usually will either hop on guitar or piano and I’ll be on guitar myself. We actually end up writing a good portion of the song instrumentally before we end up laying it down in production,” explaining how the duo seamlessly meld musical genres. “The first dubstep tracks that we really got into were these remixes of hardcore tracks. The drops just felt like the breakdown of a hardcore song. Same feel, that half-deep kind of slow head-banging vibe. There’s so much you could pull from different areas,” Srigley says.
